Ever Wonder? What is Earth Day?

This observance started with an interest in gathering national support for environmental issues.  In 1970, San Francisco activitst John McConnell and Senator Gaylord Nelson separately asked Americans to join in a grassroots demonstation.  McConnell chose the spring equinox (March 21, 1970) and Nelson chose April 22.  Millions participated and today, Earth Day continues to be widely recongized and celebrated- the most common practice of which is to plant new trees for Earth Day. The Cleveland Housing Network hosts development forum

McGregor is planning to develop and construct two new senior resdiences on its campus.  As part of this process, the Cleveland Housing Network and McGregor is interested in hearing what local residents, stakeholders and members of the community have to say.  This presentation will include introductions to the development team, a description of the project and the population it intends to serve. McGregor's Social Work Training Collaborative

McGregor proposes to develop a Social Work Training collaborative to enhance the skills of social service professionals entering the field of aging, to ensure competency, diversity and commitment to serving seniors in need.  Individuals accepted into the Training Collaborative may be currently enrolled in an accredited academic program, undergoing career change, or be in transition, requiring retraining to enhance their professional skills.
