What can we do to extend our lives by seven and a half years?

A Yale study showed that older people with more positive beliefs about aging lived an average of 7.5 longer than people who less positive about the aging process and led a more sedate lifestyle.

Fonda has shared thoughts about aging, including that people can become kinder and braver as they get older, and that they can stop caring as much about what others think. She has also said that people can feel excitement and possibility about the present moment, and that they can leave nothing on the table. 

Celebrating those senior moments

Fonda says that people can reframe having a senior moment, and that much of life gets better as people age. She gives the example of Barbara Hillary, who was 75 years old when she became the first Black woman to reach the North Pole.
