Help Us Combat Food Insecurity for Older Adults
A $25 Donation Feeds One Cleveland Senior for a Week
The Community Partnership on Aging (CPA) does extremely important work for older adults and their families in the Greater Cleveland communities of Lyndhurst, South Euclid, Highland Heights, Mayfield Heights, and Richmond Heights. McGregor is a proud partner and supporter of the CPA, including their meal program for local seniors.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the agency would provide an average of 400 meals a week to seniors. Once the pandemic began, food insecurity grew and the demand for meals skyrocketed—CPA meal usage increased by 366% in 2020. The agency now provides 800 meals a week, but continuing to sustain this level of service requires greater funding.
The Heights-Hillcrest Regional Chamber of Commerce reached out to the CPA to find a way to spread the word about the growing needs of food-insecure seniors in our communities. The Step Up to the Plate campaign was created to help fill the gap and ensure that CPA’s meals for seniors can continue. Through September 30, 2021, you can make a donation to the campaign to provide much-needed meals for Cleveland seniors.
