Fat Tuesday marks the time for people to indulge in fatty foods ahead of the Lenten season. Each year, bakeries across the country celebrate with the production of paczkis — and it’s a beloved tradition here in Northeast Ohio.
Along with the traditional Paczki’s, they even had Cotton Candy and a Popcorn Machine the was poppin’ like crazy!

If you were lucky enough to even get a taste of one Paczki, count your blessings! We heard that the most popular place (Rudy’s Strudel and Bakery in Parma) to pick up a dozen sold out ! Rudy’s sold approximately 78,000 of the sweet treats in record time during its 74-year history in the business!!
PARMA, Ohio — History was made on Tuesday at Rudy’s Strudel and Bakery on Ridge Road in Parma.
For the first time in the beloved bakery’s 74-year history, they sold out all of their paczki on a Fat Tuesday. Owner Lidia Trempe told 3News that Rudy’s sold roughly 78,000 to 79,000 of the delicious, deep-fried pieces of dough with filling.
