Boss’s Day for the year 2022 is celebrated/ observed on Monday, October 17.
Boss’s day is held on October 16th or closest week day each year and is a day for workers to show appreciation to management or their boss. Much like Employee Appreciation Day, as a day to show appreciation to the workers, Boss’s Day is a day for the workers to show their appreciation and to give thanks to their Boss.
National Boss Appreciation day has occurred on October 16th every year since 1958. Patricia Bays Haroski registered this national holiday with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to appreciate her father, who was also her boss. She was working as a secretary for State Farm Insurance Company in Deerfield, Illinois for her father, at the time and chose October 16th, which was her father’s birthday. She felt that young people didn’t fully appreciate or understand the work, worry, and effort in their boss’s day. Boss Appreciation Day was supposed to improve relationships and encourage transparency between leadership and the workforce.
