Discover the Many Opportunities Available in Aging Care

Recognizing National Career Development Month

This past summer, we had the opportunity to employ several interns at McGregor. These individuals worked in human resources, marketing, and as an administrator in training. Without any prior experience in aging services, they each noted how surprised they were by everything that the aging services industry encompasses.

When a young person thinks about aging services, they usually think about nurses or health aides. Those types of jobs are very important, but we employ so many positions in multiple areas: We need people in accounting, environmental services, and human resources. We need activity professionals—people to lead our residents, ranging in age from 55 to 105, in engaging activities that stimulate their creativity and critical thinking. With a campus of 45 acres, we need multiple individuals in facilities management roles. We could go on and on: The point is that there are many career paths in aging services!

November is National Career Development Month, a time for students of all ages to consider their future job choices. McGregor wants all students to know that, no matter your interest, there is a place for you in aging services. To learn about upcoming internship opportunities, please reach out to our team. We also invite you to get more details about working at McGregor.
