The naming of the generations begun in the 20th century. The idea that people should be grouped
together based on similar characteristics was an idea from the 19th century, but it didn’t become
popular until the 20th century.
Although we can never capture the data of what it feels like to be a part of another
generation, it can be fun to see what individuals’ lives were actually like during different periods
of time.
There has been lots of talk about which is the better generation, the Silent Generation, Baby
Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y (Millennials) or Gen Z. Generations, as we know them, have now
become a social construct in the world.
