Meet McGregor’s 2025 Summer Interns!

L-R: Meghan McGuigan, Olivia Kuhel, Ashleigh Williams

In the nonprofit industry, collaboration is essential for driving meaningful change and achieving our organization’s mission. Interns, often full of enthusiasm and fresh perspectives, can be valuable assets in this collaborative environment. We look forward to this opportunity each and every year and as we have found, they do, too!

Meghan:

Meghan McGuigan is a Summer 2025 Marketing and Communication intern. She is a rising senior at Cleveland State University majoring in Communications with a minor in Marketing and Broadcasting. Originally from Cleveland, Meghan has been creative since she was a young girl and practices poetry and photography.

This creativity led Meghan to McGregor because of the unique opportunity to produce engaging content for a broad audience. As a marketing and communications intern, Meghan has been able to collaborate with people on a number of projects. She has gained hands-on experience creating digital content, writing, researching, interviewing, and more. Meghan believes all of these skills are important to acquire as a young professional, and McGregor has allowed her to do just that.

Meghan will continue to bring her creativity and enthusiasm wherever she goes. After graduating from CSU, she hopes to work on a creative team in the Cleveland area where she can continue producing original and innovative content.

Olivia:

Olivia Kuhel is a Summer 2025 Marketing and Communications intern. She is a rising senior at George Washington University studying Political Communication and Public Health. Originally from Cleveland, Olivia grew up a competitive swimmer and enjoyed reading, music, and art.

Olivia was initially drawn to McGregor because of her interest in healthcare quality and accessibility. Her time at McGregor so far has given her the opportunity to gain experience in digital design, writing, and research. She enjoys being able to engage with the community and learn more about current issues impacting Cleveland’s residents.

After graduating, Olivia wants to attend graduate school to pursue her interest in social justice. She will use her experience at McGregor throughout her senior year and beyond. Until then, McGregor’s welcoming work environment leaves her excited to come in every day and learn something new.

Ashleigh:

Ashleigh Williams is our Summer 2025 Social Work intern. She will graduate this December from Cleveland State University with a degree in Social Work and a minor in Neuroscience. Originally from Jackson, Michigan, Ashleigh enjoys reading, cooking, and athletics. In high school, she participated in the JROTC program which inspired her to enlist in the Marine Corps after graduation.

The empathy and desire to help others which led her to the Marine Corps also drew her to McGregor. While she knew she was interested in social work, Ashleigh was initially drawn to McGregor because she wanted to learn more about the role of a social worker in a Senior Living Community. During her time here, she has the unique opportunity to form meaningful relationships with residents while learning from her supervisors.

After graduation, Ashleigh will go on to attend graduate school and is hoping to work for the VA. While she remains unsure what population she would like to work with, she is looking to gain experience with veterans and children.

Ashleigh’s desire to help others and make a difference drives her work here at McGregor. No matter what lies ahead, we know Ashleigh’s determination will take her far.

We are proud to be in our fifth year!
