National Health Center Week

National Health Center Week recognizes the importance of America’s nearly 1,500 Community Health Centers (CHCs) which provide comprehensive and quality care to millions of Americans. This year marks 60 years since the first CHC was established in 1965. Since then, the network of CHCs has expanded to communities across the country, creating an affordable healthcare option for many who would not have access to care otherwise.

CHCs minimize barriers to healthcare that deter individuals from seeking care such as cost, insurance, distance, language, and more. By working with existing healthcare systems, private organizations, and the government, CHCs are able to respond to the needs of those in their community, improving overall health outcomes.

Community Health Centers serve as a beacon of strength within their communities. A beacon made possible by the passion and dedication of the staff, board members, and community supporters who spend countless hours giving back to their community. This week, join us in celebrating CHCs and our shared mission to improve health outcomes in our community and across the country.
