Darlene Rumienski falls somewhere between the poster child for a tireless work ethic and the Energizer Bunny, as she expertly carries out her role as Executive Administrative Assistant for the C-suite at McGregor—a position she has held for 22 years.
Rumienski supports the entire leadership team at McGregor including the CEO, CFO, CMCO, CPO, ED, in addition to the PACE program and the McGregor Foundation. But when asked who she assists on a daily basis, her answer is simple: “Whomever needs me.” It’s a reflection of both her desire to go above and beyond for her colleagues and the wide scope of responsibilities she handles, formally, informally, and as a volunteer.

“I give support where it’s needed, and I obviously like the people, since I’ve stayed for 22 years,” Rumienski adds with a smile. “I enjoy the work because it makes me feel capable and productive. I feel I’m good at what I do and that’s satisfying, and of course I’m a strong believer in McGregor’s mission.”
Her responsibilities are extensive. Rumienski assists with accounts receivable and payable, manages expense reports, and steps in to support McGregor’s PACE locations across Northeast Ohio when needed. She also manages copy machines across all locations, coordinates conference reservations and scheduling, and collaborates with the team on employee appreciation initiatives and holiday parties.
Beyond her formal duties, Rumienski is a dedicated volunteer with the McGregor Food Pantry and serves as a Notary, assisting staff, residents, and their families when needed.
Her commitment to helping others extends far beyond the workplace. When her children were young, she was deeply involved in the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts (which she introduced the Tiger Cub program to) and supporting scouting through guided activities with adult mentors.
For Rumienski, stepping in wherever help is needed isn’t just part of the job, it’s part of her DNA.
