How do you stand out?
The job market is constantly changing and forever unpredictable. For current people seeking jobs, it can feel frustrating and pointless. While there was once a time where submitting five applications led to at least two interviews, times have changed. People today are submitting dozens, even hundreds, of applications hoping for a response.
In today’ s world, job opportunities are posted on websites and social media pages. While this can certainly make it easier to seek out jobs and submit applications, the accessibility to these jobs have increased, meaning so has the number of candidates. Technology has drastically changed the application, but also the hiring process. Rather than a formal meeting, in some cases the employer never even meets the candidates. Websites where ai completes the interview and Zoom calls have replaced a formal handshake. While this allows candidates from all over apply for these opportunities, it can lead to star candidates being overlooked because their resume was missing a few key words.
While economic changes within our country certainly have a factor as well, companies are trying to go about the new technology changes to work in their favor. While it can be frustrating, if there is a will, there is a way. In many cases, the job is worth the wait!
