There is something so special about reading a book. The distinct smell of the pages, the feeling of flipping each one, and the way a story can transport you into an entirely new world. Whether it’s a fictional book about ghosts or a nonfiction biography about Billy Joel, every book offers something unique. Some books make us laugh, while others encourage us to see the world differently.

Long before e-books or Kindle, a trip to the library was often the highlight of the week. The rustling of pages along with whispers of readers recommending their favorite books, filled the room. Libraries weren’t just a place to borrow a book. They were a place of community. A place to discover something new. Dated back to the 1450s, when the first printed book was created, books forever changed the way stories were shared. While today’s technology has changed the way we consume information, it can never fully replace the experience of holding a book.
At McGregor, residents can still enjoy that feeling. The community library provides a comfortable place to revisit classics or experience a new tale. Sometimes, all it takes is a comfy chair and a good book to recharge the mind and spirit.
We have quite a collection to choose from, many donated or from estates.
