Celebrating the Voices and Vision of McGregor’s 2025 Marketing and Communication Interns

Each summer, McGregor welcomes interns who bring fresh ideas, curiosity, and energy to our work. In 2025, our Marketing and Communication interns, Olivia Kuehl and Meghan McGuigan, reminded us why internship programs are so valuable—not only for the students who gain professional experience, but also for the organizations that benefit from their perspective, creativity, and enthusiasm.

Olivia and Meghan joined McGregor at a meaningful time, as our organization continued to expand its storytelling, strengthen community engagement, and share the impact of our mission across Northeast Ohio. They stepped into projects that required thoughtful communication, collaboration, and adaptability, and they approached each assignment with professionalism and a willingness to learn.

Throughout the internship, Olivia contributed to content development, article writing, blog support, internal communications, and Foundation storytelling. Her ability to research, write clearly, and capture meaningful narratives helped elevate stories about McGregor’s work, including the impact of grants awarded to nonprofit partners. She also supported the “Inside the Gray Area” podcast by helping identify guests, assisting with video and audio recordings, and contributing to a smoother production process.

Meghan brought her own strengths to the Marketing and Communication team, offering creative support for social media, blog content, flyers, invitations, podcast coordination, and special event communications. Her comfort with video production and technical support proved especially valuable as the team worked toward an ambitious podcast schedule. Meghan also demonstrated strong interpersonal skills by connecting with colleagues, volunteers, and interviewing participants to help bring McGregor stories to life.

Together, Olivia and Meghan represented the best of what a summer internship can be. They explored new areas of communications, learned the importance of mission-driven messaging, and contributed to projects that supported McGregor’s broader outreach goals. Their work reflected the power of storytelling—whether through written articles, podcast conversations, social media content, or internal messages that recognize and celebrate employees.

Just as importantly, Olivia and Meghan reminded us that interns are not simply here to observe. They are collaborators. They ask questions, offer ideas, and help us see our work through a new lens. At McGregor, we often say that we learn as much from our interns as they learn from us, and the 2025 Marketing and Communication internship experience proved that once again.

As Olivia and Meghan continue their academic and professional journeys, we are grateful for the time, talent, and energy they shared with McGregor. Their contributions strengthened our communications efforts and helped tell the stories of the people, programs, and partnerships that make our mission meaningful. We look forward to seeing where their talents take them next—and we are proud to have been part of their journey.
