When interviewing Hospice of Greater Cleveland patients, a support service offered at McGregor, we were only given positive feedback.

Hospice palliative care has been around since the 1960s. Since then, millions of people have experienced a loved one going through Hospice care.
The first patient we spoke with was a man in his early 60s who has been on Hospice for about a month in a half. Before he entered Hospice, he did not think much about it. Since admitting himself to Hospice, he claims the care team “meets where you are at and controls your pain”. A support service Hospice provides is pain management. They “medicate, comfort, and cater to whatever” he says. Hospice is there for his loved ones as they are in contact and communicate accordingly whenever he needs it. The patient described, “it feels good to have help right here with me”. Hospice’s purpose is to make you as comfortable as possible. At McGregor, we see this purpose being demonstrated at maximum efforts by our staff.
Another patient has been in Hospice for six years. He is a veteran that served in the U.S. Army for 35 years. He described the last six years in Hospice as “peaceful” and that the nurses are “very caring”. He appreciates communication with his Chaplen and sister. An important part of hospice care is 24-Hour Support and more. When asked about what around the clock care meant to him, he said “it is way less stressful staff coming to me than having to go to the VA”. Hospice of Greater Cleveland will accommodate a system that works best for you and your family. “It’s a special kind of care.”
