McGregor Hospice, A Special Kind of Caring

McGregor Hospice provides “a special kind of caring” for individuals and families who are facing a life-limiting illness.

McGregor Hospice is a nonprofit concept of care focusing on individuals and families facing a life limiting illness. McGregor Hospice is a “boutique style hospice” emphasizing quality and caring while providing medical services as well as social, emotional and spiritual support for both the individual and their family.

Our ultimate goal is to promote the highest quality of life by ensuring comfort, dignity and tranquility no matter where the patient resides or calls “home”. This includes a private home, long term care facility, assisted living, apartment or the home of a family member or friend.

Our services are provided by a team of experienced, well-trained professionals who provide support and on-site visits above the State regulated standards.  Continuity of care for our patients and families is provided by our physicians, nurses, aides therapists, social workers, counselors and volunteers.

Hospice

America’s veterans have done everything asked of them in their mission to serve our country. Veterans have sacrificed so much to keep all of us free and our liberties intact. Millions of men and women have served in the United States military armed forces and have put aside any regard for themselves, while leaving family and friends, to defend our country and its ideals. One of their core responsibilities was to provide common defense, swearing an oath to protect and defend our nation and the Constitution.

Our McGregor Hospice team is dedicated to providing high-quality care for seniors. We recognize the sacrifices that our men and women in the armed forces have made. We believe that all Americans owe a debt of gratitude that is immeasurable to those who have served to defend our country.

Traumatic experiences such as war can produce feelings of depression, sleeplessness, anger and irritability, loss of interest, nightmares, guilt, shame, aggressive behaviors, lack of support, and feelings of not being in control, which reflects the intensity of the trauma. This is known as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Sometimes these symptoms don’t surface for months or even years after returning from deployment and can impact the everyday life of the individual and family. With these thoughts in mind, we have developed a Veterans Recognition Program. The purpose is to recognize veterans who are receiving services from McGregor Hospice. All veterans receive a framed Certificate of Appreciation, Service Medal of Honor, and a cap. In addition, journals are provided to record the veterans’ memories which will be given to their families.

Our ultimate goal is to provide the highest quality of care for patients who are veterans. McGregor Hospice staff is trained in caring for patients who have had traumatic experiences.
