Volunteers are all Heart!

Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart!

“You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.” ~ Winston Churchill

Lloyd Williams began volunteering at McGregor in August 2021 after retiring and moving closer to his mom. He heard about the volunteer opportunities from his mom, who was also a volunteer that played the piano for the residents. Lloyd volunteers 2 times a week, assisting with Bible Study and our group activities on Tuesdays.

His favorite part about volunteering is visiting with residents. He enjoys listening to the residents talk about their families, lives and their outlook and faith.

Lloyd’s advice to anyone interested in becoming a volunteer is to “jump right in! The residents are positive, thankful, and endearing.”

“Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation’s compassion, unselfish caring, patience, and just plain loving one another.”
