Sam Fosh Sings for McGregor Residents

Earlier this week, our activities team hosted a concert for McGregor guests, residents, and families under the tent in our Gardens courtyard.

When it comes to quality of life for seniors, some may not consider the important role that socialization plays. Remaining socially active has been linked to a number of health benefits—and remaining in good health is important for quality of life for seniors. For seniors who are struggling with loneliness or looking to improve their social life, music may be just the ticket. Getting residents outdoors has many physical, emotional, and spirtual benefits.  It improves the visual and emotional experience by getting fresh air, physically enjoy sunshine- which encourages vitamin D absorption, enjoying the surrounding gardens, and making new friends!

Local performer Sam Fosh, who specializes in making music for seniors in Northeast Ohio, sang and danced to many of our favorite tunes! For some of the more popular songs, he even asked members of the audience to sing along with him.  So many remember the songs well, while the songs bring back happy memories.

The weather couldn’t have been better for a live outdoor musical experience!

After singing the day away, all in attendance felt delighted after enjoying some fun in the sun on this perfect summer afternoon.

Hungry for more? Gwen Lady Bluz & Her Cru as well as the Reid Project Jazz Band will both be performing at our Musical McGregor Concert Series before the summer ends!
