Diwali~ Festival of Lights

October 21- Diwali, the “Festival of Lights” is one of the most popular holidays in India and is a major Hindu holiday. Observed over the course of five days, Diwali is marked by prayer, feasts, and light displays.

Diwali comes from the word “Deepavali,” meaning “row of lights.” For this reason, light plays an important role in all Diwali celebrations. Those who celebrate light traditional clay lamps, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness. Elaborate designs called “rangoli” are often drawn on the ground to ward off evil spirits. Rangoli are typically made from different powders, or even small grains.

We wish all of those who celebrate a bright and joyous celebration!
