February 16: President’s Day

Happy President’s Day! Celebrated the third Monday of February, President’s Day honors the 47 presidents who have served Americans since 1879. Although it was originally created to commemorate George Washington and Abraham Lincoln’s birthdays, the holiday honors the service of all American presidents.

Ohio is home to eight great presidents of our past. Their names being William Henry Harrison (9), Ulysses S. Grant (18), Rutherford B. Hayes (19), James A. Garfield (20), Benjamen Harrison (23) William Mckinley (25) William Howard Taft (27) and Warren Harding (29). All these past presidents have landmarks throughout Ohio that are open to visitors.
