March 17: St. Patrick’s Day

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Held every year on March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day is a celebration for all. Irish or not, feel free to get into the holiday spirit by wearing green, eating corned beef, or listening to Irish music. Honoring the patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick, the day began as a religious feast then slowly became a global celebration. St. Patrick’s Day serves as an opportunity Cleveland’s Irish population, and those across the world, to display their pride for Irish culture.

Because of Cleveland’s large Irish population, our hometown is a great place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The annual St. Patrick’s Day parade downtown hosts local bands, Irish dancers, and other celebrations; a great activity for the whole family to enjoy!
