Your journey is personal. We help you get there.

The 7th of June is Chocolate Ice Cream Day.

Today is National Chocolate Ice Cream Day, the perfect excuse to celebrate one of the world’s most beloved frozen treats.

Chocolate ice cream has a deliciously rich history and was actually recorded in writing before vanilla. One of the earliest known recipes appeared in a Naples cookbook in 1692, back when chocolate was considered a luxury.

While it was not the very first frozen dessert, chocolate quickly became one of the earliest documented ice cream flavors. Thanks to advances in refrigeration and commercial production during the 1800s, ice cream became more accessible to everyone, and chocolate has remained a timeless favorite ever since.

Cleveland’s favorite ice cream spots offer everything from locally sourced, handmade scoops to creamy frozen custards and trendy treats. Iconic establishments like Mitchell’s, Honey Hut, and Mason’s Creamery regularly top local rankings.

Other locations include Weber’s (Fairview Park), Graeter’s Ice Cream (Westlake, Beachwood), Handel’s Ice Cream (Rocky River, Mayfield, Northfield), Malley’s (various locations), East Coast Custard (Fairview Park, Lyndhurst, Parma Heights)

Whether served in a cone, a bowl, or piled high with toppings, chocolate ice cream continues to bring a little extra joy to every scoop!
