Stepping inside the beautiful campus of McGregor, you feel like you’re entering a new world. McGregor emphasizes the blend of comfort, history and community. Between independent living, assisted living, hospice, and PACE, each area has its own unique atmosphere contributing to the welcoming community inside! Built on 45 acres, the campus is filled with charm and character around every corner.
Unique antiques are found all throughout the buildings. Many of these pieces have been generously donated over the years, meaning they are one of a kind. Cozy sitting areas and gathering spaces, such as the cafe Tootie’s, provide a place for residents and staff to connect while also appreciating the rich history of the community. Tootie’s, being named after “Tootie McGregor” has images and notes of the history, allowing access to the amazing origin stories. McGregor feels rich with stories and history. From section to section, even the flooring differs, which helps create a new experience in each area.
Walking down the hallways can feel like a flash to the past. Filled with colorful stained glass windows, vintage pianos, transistor radios, and beautiful paintings and images adds to the charm and sparks fun conversation. One hallway features a collection of photographs taken all across the world by a late resident, whose work continues to inspire conversation and fascination. Every hallway feels intentionally designed. Each floor is a different color, allowing easy navigation and a different feel to each hallway.
What truly makes the inside of McGregor so special is the people. Without the residents and staff, McGregor would be nothing. Seeing people gathered in the cafe, greeting their neighbors with a pleasant hello, or joining together for community events, sparks the special atmosphere throughout.
