National Food Bank Day

The first Friday of September marks national food bank day, serving as a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness leave lasting impacts. While unfortunately, food insecurity happens in communities all across the globe, beginning in our community of Northeast Ohio, is a great place to start.

On National Food Bank Day, we recognize the organizations, volunteers, and donors that put in countless hours and dedication to helping those in need. During times of financial hardship, and as unexpected challenges arise, food banks serve as a small cushion, ensuring that those in need are getting the nutrients they need.

Right here in Northeast Ohio, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, serves thousands of people, offering food, but also additional resources to help regain stability. While monetary donations go a long way, simpler forms of kindness help too. Inviting a struggling neighbor over to share a meal, offering your time at a nearby church, and even encouraging your friends to help out, impact so many lives. National Food Bank Day reminds us of the importance of generosity and community impact, For more information on the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, go to: Home | Greater Cleveland Food Bank
