As another school year begins, backpacks are packed, classrooms fill with excitement, and families settle into new routines. While students prepare to learn something new, many of life’s most important lessons have already been taught; by parents, grandparents, neighbors, and mentors.
At McGregor, we’re reminded every day that wisdom doesn’t only come from a classroom. It comes from years of experience, quiet acts of kindness, words of encouragement, and stories shared across generations.
For many older adults, back-to-school season brings memories of walking children to the bus stop, helping with homework at the kitchen table, or celebrating the excitement of a first day of school. Today, many have the joy of watching grandchildren create those same memories.
As this new school year begins, we’re grateful for the generations who continue to teach by example. Their lessons in kindness, resilience, patience, and compassion are ones that last far beyond the classroom.
