Where Compassion Leads: Raschanda Jackson’s Vision for End-of-Life Quality Hospice of Greater Cleveland

When Raschanda Jackson was promoted from Team Lead Clinical Manager to Hospice Administrator at Hospice of Greater Cleveland, it wasn’t just a new title. It was the continuation of her calling.

Her journey to Administrator of Hospice of Greater Cleveland (a partnership between Judson and McGregor Senior Living Communities) is something simple but powerful. “One of the things that brought me to McGregor is the skill in care the residents receive,” said Jackson, referring to the strength and reputation of the hospice program. “Seeing the compassionate care and quality of care residents receive at the end of life, that’s what stays with me.”

From early in her career working on hospice teams, Raschanda knew hospice care was sacred work. At McGregor, she met a remarkable team of nurses, chaplains, nursing assistants, social workers and volunteers who shared the same philosophy she carries into every decision: “At the end of life, you only get one shot to do it right.” And she means it.

“One of the most important things about hospice care,” Raschanda explains, “is being a second set of eyes for the family.” Her team monitors medications, suggests equipment needs, addresses skin issues and anticipates changes before they become crises. Families lean on them for guidance, reassurance and clarity.

“What I love about the job is my ability to educate and support families on end-of-life care,” she says. “We all have the desire to support our loved ones. Getting the trust from a family to take care of that loved one, I love that the most.”
