McGregor recognizing one of our own during National Assisted Living Week

Celebrating one of our own during National Assisted Living Week!

Kisha Flonnory, McGregor’s Activity Director, has worked at McGregor for almost 14 years. Since she began as the Activities Coordinator, she has moved up through the ranks of the organization. At the time, she was still in school studying social work when she earned a certification in activities. As time passed, she took on more responsibility managing contractors, vendors to ensure entertainment was provided, as well as overseeing the beauty shop. Overall, she is intent on making sure the residents achieve a high quality of life by providing stimulating activities.

These activities are meant to keep residents busy and active. She stresses the importance of tailoring these programs to residents’ varying cognition levels. In addition to overseeing activities, she also gets to know residents when they are first admitted to learn their individual preferences. She checks in quarterly and annually to confirm their needs are being met.

Her passion for seniors began when her father was in a nursing facility himself. She believes that giving back to the community is crucial, especially to seniors, who have taken care of others their whole lives. Each day she returns to work because she enjoys her job and being able to put a smile on their faces. “As long as they’re happy I’m happy,” she explains.

We are grateful that Kisha continues to be a valued member of the team at McGregor and thank her for her continued dedication to our mission.
