McGregor awards grant recipient

Future Ink Graphics

Future Ink Graphics’ (FIG) mission is to foster the development and advancement of Cleveland designers, artists and youth, bringing economic opportunities and arts education to the Clark-Fulton neighborhood and the Greater Cleveland community.

With help from the McGregor Foundation, FIG created a series of art classes for senior citizens in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood.

One series titled “Expressions of Experience” allowed participants to engage in printmaking, collages, stenciling, and silkscreens. The workshops were marketed in English and Spanish, and most workshops are run by FIG’s bilingual teaching artists. After this initial success, FIG wrote directly to Catholic Charities ask for support in growing the Expressions of Experience workshop series with the hope seniors’ artwork will eventually be displayed in FIG’s Community Gallery.

FIG is committed to inclusive programming and has been working on doing so within the local senior population. Developing these programs strengthened community partnerships and allowed FIG to build personal relationships and trust with seniors across the community.

The McGregor Foundation supports FIG’s mission to provide quality, accessible programs to all, and their dedication to serving seniors across the Greater Cleveland community.
