On January 30, families, friends and caregivers gathered on the McGregor campus for Hospice of Greater Cleveland’s inaugural community memorial service – an event created to remember, honor and celebrate the lives of those who had passed under the organizations compassionate care.
Throughout the ceremony, families were invited to join in rituals of remembrance designed to honor each individual’s lasting impact. These moments underscored the essence of hospice care: improving quality of life through expert pain management, emotional and spiritual support, and the gift of presence during life’s most cherished moments.

Led by John Malone, Senior Pastor of Faith Alliance Bible Church in Cleveland, the service offered a space for heartfelt tributes, shared stories, and quiet moments of reflection. Attendees spoke of loved ones who shaped their lives in profound ways and of the compassionate hospice team who walked beside them during their end-of-life journeys, said Pastor Malone.
According to Jacqueline Southern, McGregor’s Director of Life Enrichment, “McGregor launched this inaugural gathering to create a meaningful, communal way for families to grieve, heal and celebrate legacies together.”
Hospice of Greater Cleveland provides care wherever a patient calls home – whether in skilled nursing, assisted living, independent living, or within the broader community.
Established in 2024, Hospice of Greater Cleveland is the result of a joint venture combining the long-standing hospice programs of Judson Senior Living and McGregor Senior Living. Together, they aim to better serve the needs of Northeast Ohioias by offering comprehensive end-of-life care, bereavement services, and palliative support across a wide range of care settings.
