There is something special about a Cleveland sunset. We often take the beauty of our city for granted. Between the vibrant neighborhoods, scenic parks, and miles of Lake Erie shoreline, there is no shortage of places to slow down and enjoy the moment. Whether you are looking for a peaceful spot to unwind after a stressful day or planning an outing with friends, a sunset is the perfect excuse to go outside.
To help you find your next favorite view, we’ve rounded up five of the best places to watch a Cleveland sunset (all just a short drive from McGregor!).
- Solstice Steps – Lakewood
The solstice steps are one of Cleveland’s most popular places to watch the sunset. With terraced stone steps, people sit back, listen to the waves, and admire the sky.

- Wendy Park & Whiskey Island – Cleveland
Located where Lake Erie meets the Cuyahoga River, this park offers a view of both the downtown skyline and the open water. This is the perfect place to go if you are interested in participating in some beach volleyball or just want a peaceful place to watch the sunset.
- Euclid Beach Park – Cleveland
Once home to a historic amusement park, this area is now known for its pier, walking trail, and open green space where you can sit and watch the sunset reflect across the water.
- Edgewater Park – Cleveland
Whether you want to relax on the beach, go for a swim, take a walk along the shoreline, or get food from varying food trucks, Edgewater is a lively place to admire the sunset with the Cleveland community.
- Mentor Headlands Beach State Park – Mentor
This location is Ohio’s biggest natural sand beaches. It provides a beautiful place to take a walk or have a picnic while enjoying the beautiful sky.
