Each summer, McGregor welcomes emerging professionals who bring curiosity, creativity, and fresh perspectives to our work. In 2026, Marketing & Communication interns Lydia Emerine, Lauren Ravas, and Anne Dubecky became valued members of the team, gaining hands-on experience while helping share the stories of McGregor’s people, programs, and community impact.
Throughout the summer, the interns contributed to a wide range of projects, including blog articles, social media content, digital graphics, photography, video and reels, website updates, event communications, and community outreach. They also explored search engine optimization, digital tools, and emerging uses of artificial intelligence in marketing—building practical skills while learning how thoughtful communication can advance a mission.
Lydia Emerine
Lydia brought strong writing, organization, and audience awareness to her assignments. She researched and developed content for blogs, social media, and other digital platforms, helping highlight McGregor’s residential options, PACE program, career opportunities, volunteer engagement, grantmaking, and broader commitment to older adults and families. Her attention to detail, openness to feedback, and ability to adapt information for different formats strengthened every project she supported. The story about the Music Therapist made a huge impact!
Lauren Ravas
Lauren approached the internship with enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine interest in the people behind McGregor’s mission. Through writing, visual storytelling, and conversations with residents, staff, volunteers, and community partners, she saw firsthand how meaningful communication can build connections. Her experience reflected the heart of mission-driven marketing: listening closely, recognizing everyday moments, and sharing stories that help others understand the value of the work. Reels that featured the beauty of the campus and the PACE participants engaged in bowling was a big hit!
Anne Dubecky
Anne gained experience across many facets of nonprofit marketing and communications. She wrote blog articles, created digital graphics and video content, supported community events, and learned how strategic communications can convey an organization’s mission and impact. By meeting residents, employees, volunteers, and community partners, she developed a deeper understanding of the role authentic storytelling plays in strengthening relationships and inspiring engagement. She even joined a bingo activity and won!
Learning, Contributing, and Growing Together
Together, Lydia, Lauren, and Anne demonstrated that interns are more than observers—they are collaborators. They asked thoughtful questions, offered new ideas, embraced unfamiliar assignments, and brought energy to projects that supported McGregor’s communications goals. Their work helped connect audiences with the services, partnerships, and people at the center of McGregor’s mission.
Just as importantly, the internship created opportunities for professional growth. Each intern strengthened her skills in research, writing, design, digital media, collaboration, and community engagement while discovering how communications can make a positive difference in people’s lives.
We are grateful to Lydia, Lauren, and Anne for the talent, dedication, and fresh perspective they shared with McGregor during the summer of 2026. Their contributions enriched our work and helped tell the stories that make our community special. We are proud to have been part of their professional journey and look forward to seeing where their creativity and skills take them next.
