McGregor had the privilege of being visited by representatives of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, to be awarded a grant to expand affordable housing opportunities. “These awards will facilitate capital investment in senior housing developments and create roughly 1,1000 new homes, the majority for low-income seniors”, said HUD Secretary Ben Carson. “This project will allow McGregor to build 54 new units and renovate 26 of the recently vacated assisted living apartments in the McGregor Home. The award also provides all 80 units with a subsidy to assist seniors in paying monthly rental costs, an extraordinary benefit for individuals who rely only on social security,” shared Ann Conn.
